When you upload your data to the Data Archive it is stored at the GovDC data Centre in Silverwater, Sydney for more information. For more information see the FAQ entry: Where can I say my data is stored on a grant or ethics application?

When you write to the store, Three copies are made; two always remain on-site and the third copy is taken to a secure off-site facility after 7 days.

This ensures that in the event that something happens to the on-site copies there is an additional backup.

See also the When should I delete / remove the local copy of my data? FAQ.
